Thanks to its history and quality, Mambokids is, without any doubt, referred to as Tuscany’s premier Latin band, having performed its enchanting, high-energy brand of afro-cuban music in all relevant and prestigious venues in the region and beyond. An extensive roaster of high caliber clients and its huge fan-base, not to mention countless videos, can attest to its success in injecting life and joy to any gathering of dancers, party goers or even casual listeners.
The multi-national ensemble is lead by “Jack of All Trades” keyboardist, vocalist, percussionist, dancer and legendary radio-host, Colombian-born Cesar Martignon, with Argentinian guitarist and lead vocalist Daniel Chazarreta providing a highly skilled harmonic and soloistic support, and last but not least, Yorka Rios, well-known Cuban singer now living in Florence. Pure Cuban and afro-caribbean percussion is united in an infernal rhythm-machine by Havana-born Taylor Marty on timbales, Colombian Christian Torres on bongo and Firenze native and expert “conguero” Filippo Sgrani. Front-lining the instrumental section are “Mayhem’s Brass” - members Emanuele Campigli on trumpet and Leandro Giordani on alto sax, all of which at times join the percussion section and the rest of the band into a raucous and exhilarating marching band meandering through the audience who, more often than not, end up themselves marching and dancing, emulating Carnival in the Caribbean... Like a fine-tuned machine, the band on stage performs with outmost precision sophisticated and compelling arrangements of popular Salsa, Merengue, Gypsy, Cumbia and Bachata standards from the 70s, 80s and 90s, all the way to today,’s hits (from the likes of Shakira, Carlos Vives, Isaac Delgado, Luis Fonsi, Enrique Iglesias, etc.) easily covering three hours of high-quality live entertainment.
